Love Love Love the Run DMC track suit influence and tech toe shoes. But of course. I agree that the blue/red might be swapped to good effect, but whatevs, this works so well.
Thanks, man. I like the approach you took to your Spidey redesign - The idea that he'd improve the suit over time. I sketched up a more snazzy/gadget-y look for him to wear later on in his career as well, but I haven't gotten a chance to fully draw it up.
As much as I like this, I can't help but think this would be a better costume for Hank Pym. With the addition of those little antennae on the mask / helmet.
And that's why I enjoy them so much. Spiderman, in my eyes, is maybe the ONLY superhero who can't be altered too much. I think even Superman can be pushed. But when you've got characters who are a variation on Spider-Man, be it Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man 2099, Venom, Deadpool even... They look like him, but at the same time nothing like him. It's very odd. Even the new Ultimate Spiderman with the red on black kinda doesn't look like Spider-Man. Same thing with Ben Reilly's costume from the 90's. [link](Benjamin_Reilly)_(Earth-25663).jpg Remember that? With the huge spider on the chest and the tubular bracelet web-shooters. There's almost an assumption that he's not Spiderman.
I dig it! I think the mask makes him look a bit less like spider-man and a bit more... Sentai, since I'm obviously blanking out on which one i mean at the moment.

Ultimately when I do these I tend to sacrifice recognition for whatever I think looks cool. Haha
I do like this design though, Ale.
